The BF-F5XP is a dual band handheld radio that improves on the UV-5R with more transmit power based on a new generation chipset - along with new concierge service.
Beyond the 2 Power Levels (1, 5 watt) it also includes: a new 1800mAh Battery, an in-depth user guide, concierge support, and the High Gain V-85 Antenna. All while still maintaining full backward accessory compatibility with all prior UV-5R accessories.

The BF-F5XP includes a new battery pack that still provides a long lasting radio experience; even while using high power.
Average Battery Life:
UV-5R High (4W): 18 Hours.
BF-BF-F5XP High (5W): 20 Hours.
BF-F5XP Mid (5W): 24 Hours.
The large battery gives you peace of mind to use the built-In flashlight or even the built in FM radio - and still have the power to communicate throughout the day without recharging.
The BF-F5XP also includes: External Accessory Compatibility, FM Radio, Flashlight, Emergency Alarm.
The BF-F5XP has one built-in receiver but can 'watch' two channels/frequencies (semi duplex). The BF-F5XP will monitor both frequencies giving priority to the first station to receive an incoming call.
The BF-F5XP supports CTCSS, DCS, and DTMF calling methods. Tone calling (private line) is required by most repeater applications and the BF-F5XP supports the latest standards.
The BF-F5XP can send DTMF tones. This allows for sending ANI (Caller ID) or remote commands that require DTMF tones.

BFTECH BF Series Radio
The BF-F5XP series is BFTECH most commercialized radio series. Compared to the UV-5R and other previous series; the BF-F5XP radios come with a much louder speaker (1 watt), while other current UV-5R radios use a 700mW speaker.
The BF-F5XP series radios also have a more solid case that employ larger buttons as well compared to the previous series. The BF-F5XP uses the latest chipset and PCB board that outperforms the range, accuracy, and output of the previous chipsets.
- It is not simply a remake but a new radio from the ground up.
